The shop is fulled with many cute and beatiful little decoration. Too bad, these display are not for sale…

The Refined Pattern

The kimono or yukata are a bit expensive, so for you who want to buy Odawara souvenir, there are various beautiful tenugui prints. Tenugui is a Japanese term for a long handkerchief. You can use it as usual handkerchief or hang it as decoration.

The first orange tenugui is a picture of odawara castle, one of the main symbol of odawara. Blue tenugui are some Odawara special snack, such as kamaboko and oden. Orange tenugui are Odawara flowers, sakura (cherry-blossoms), ume (plum flower), mikan (orange), and matsu (pine).

Other goods are furoshiki and cute little plushies. Furoshiki is a Japanese traditional way to wrap food (o-bento), clothes, or any other thing into a bundle as a substitute of a bag. There are many Japanese pattern for you to choose. The cute plushies also available with vivid color in many pattern and shape, like teddy bear, rabbit, etc.

This is one of the kimono that displayed at the shop. The pink color is very pretty, but it is expensive though, almost 400,000 JPY…. People only wear it at a special occasion such as wedding or other big party.

Here are some of the obi at the shop (the green one is my favorite!). There are 2 types of obi, left picture is an obi made by painting the cloth directly using brush and coloring material. The right side are made with high skills using the weaving tool.

I need to start saving money, summer is near and maybe I will buy yukata (summer kimono, its cheaper!). I didn’t took a picture of the yukata because they’re not displaying it yet so here is a jinbee picture. Jinbee is an informal traditional Japanese clothes. It is lighter and more comfortable to move in this clothes.
