You can enjoy both biology and literature at here.

Reopened in March 2007 after refurbishment. There is an information facility and a literature museum called “Izu Museum of Modern Literature” which exhibit materials of more than 120 writers who are related to Izu.

Spring in the forests of rRhododendron, Festival in the autumn in the courtyard of the Museum of literature fall foliage Festival holds.

Closed Third Wednesday of each month
Business housrs 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Fee ■Izu Museum of Modern Literature
300 yen for adults, 100 yen for children (taxes included)

■Experience of Horseradish Sauce Making (appointment needed)
1,000 yen (taxes included)

Getting there – By car
From Numazu IC, drive via Izu-chuou Road and Shuzenji Road, toward Kawazu and Shimoda area for 60 minutes.

– By train and bus
Get off at Shuzenji Station of Izu-Hakone-Tetsudo Line, take a Tokai bus for 40 minutes, get off at Showa-no-Mori Kaikan bus stop, walk for 1 minute from there.

Parking lot Free, 9 spaces for large vehicles, 200 spaces for normal sized car. Shared with Roadside Station Amagikoe.
