2014 Atami New Year’s parade of fire brigades

As an annual event, the “2014 New Year’s parade of fire brigades” by the annual Atami-shi firefighting headquarters, firefighting team was held Yesterday, on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.
Member of city firefighting headquarters, fire department, and other guests of approximately 460 people attended the ceremony held at the Shinsui Park from 10:00 a.m.

During the ceremony, there were events of national flag hoisting, national anthem unison, a moment of silent prayer for the victims of firefighting, and firefighting team reviews. After these events, there were speeches from the chief of the Firefighting Department and Mr. Sato, the Mayor of Atami City, also instructions from the leader of the firefight team. A commendation ceremony was held afterwards.

Followed by the above events, there was “the oath of fire prevention” and the “Song Of Fire Prevention” performed by the Kid firefighting club of the Fuji Nursery School. The high-spirited singing voices resonated within the venue.

After the ceremony, the parade marched by fire engines and ambulances was held at the Ginza Street.
In addition to the parade of fire engines and ambulances, the Atami Harley society as well as the Queen of the plum of Atami, Ms. Shima Hirasawa and the Cherry Girl, Ms. Eri Nozaki were aslo taking part in the parade by riding a side car.
Applause was sent to the march from the people along the street.
After the parade, water shooting was performed by multiple fire engines at the Moon Terrace of the Shinsui Park, attracted many local residents as well as tourists to watch.
