It was built the Bora shed was built in 1627 by Kii Clan (lord of current Wakayama area), and after years several degrees extension and/or alteration has been carried out.

The mullet fishing in this region was operated by the Kii family’s direct management under the protection of Tokugawa shogunate government. When the mullet season comes (March to May, September to November) fishermen gather this building and wait caring for a ship and the net for the time to sail. As sail out fishing more than 100 villagers heroically marched with the noise of trumpet shell with waving flags.

It is said that the striped mullet produced here was delivered to distant Edo-jo Castle and served to a dining table of Prince Tokugawa the third.

People in this ward enthusiastically took this building as a important historical evidence and decided to restore and pass to next generations.
