Kadowaki Lighthouse

Left the parkig lot at Jogasaki-kaigan Shore and walk toward the sea for about dozen meters, Kadowaki Lighthouse popped into my eye.

Kadowaki Lighthouse is 24.9 meters in height, there are observation decks at the height of 4 meters (outdoor) and 17 meters (indoor).

The lighthouse can be freely accessed by the public, there was no person in charge during my visit. It is free to enter without any admission fees and charges.

After taking some time rambling around the deck at the height of 4 meters, I went right up to another deck at the height of 17 meters.

The spiral staircase in the lighthouse is so narrow that can only pass one adult at a time. There are separate staircases for upward and downward, people going up and down can avoid from interfering with each other.

I climbed the spiral stairs slowly toward the upper floors while enjoying beautiful scenery through windows at different floors.

My legs felt swollen up after reaching the upper observation deck. Added to the height of the cape where the lighthouse built upon, the height at the upper observation deck is amazing! If you turn around, spectacular landscapes and sea are all around you.

Mt. Amagi-renzan and Mt. Omuro-yama can be viewed from here. Facing the direction of the sea, the broad intricate coastline formed by rough stony land can be viewed.
Due to the weather condition, I wasn’t able to view the Izu-shichito Island, but if it was sunny day, the island can also be overlooked from here.

For those who feel tired from climbing up and down the stairs, there is a shop at the side of the lighthouse where you can buy cold drinks, please take a rest slowly.
