Has everybody read “The Little Prince?”
Wonder how many readers would his quote have moved, “Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.”?

I went to “The Museum of The Little Prince” in Hakone today.
This museum has opened in 1999 and it’s the only museum of le petit prince.

A trip begins from Odawara Station getting on the Hakone Tozan Bus to Tougendai Station.
The bus goes through the mountain area up along the path. The scenery on the way is beautiful, but there are many sharp curves, too. Still, the bus goes through the mouutain path like a flying bird.
I have begun to get carsick while admiring a technique of a conductor.

In approximately 40 minutes, the bus stops in front of The Museum of The Little Prince.
It is so mysterious to see such a splendid artificial building in a mountain.
The museum and the garden were European style building. At the entrance, the little prince and the planet of B612 awaits you.

I bought a ticket and enter the garden.
A French building, neatly formed trees, red roses, hydrangea in the full bloom, feeling like stepping into the fairy tale world.
There seems to be 300 kinds of flower grass in the garden. You can enjoy seasonal floral art throughout the year.

“The garden of the encounter” and “the path of the hydrangea.”

The building of the display hall is French villa style and reproduces the feature of the town where an author lived in. Both the appearance and the decoration are all French style and have a romantic atmosphere.

It is Saint-Exupery Church.

It is a cafe and a restaurant. The character of “the prince of the star” hides in a restaurant.

Including the little prince, characters appear in a garden.

A strange life of author Saint-Exupery and a making of “the little prince” are displayed in the exhibition hall.

When we flew for reconnaissance during World War II over the mother country in French Pilot, sun tegujuperi is shot down by German fighter of enemy force, and there could not be thing that we never come back.
It was said that Saint-Exupery has vanished in the sky just like the little prince was disappeared because of snake bite.
On the second floor, there are reproduction of child’s room of Saint-Exupery and an apartment in New York and display the original drawing of “little prince”.
By the way, the prince was called “the King of the Sun” because of his blond hair in his childhood.

Can you remember the rose and a fox of the desert? In fact, there existed models for them in Saint-Exupery’s actual life.
First the fox. Saint-Exupery has kept the animal called a desert fox in desert. As he lived by himself the desert fox was the only comfort for him.
And also a rose. Saint-Exupery fell in love with a woman called Consuelo when he was working in South America and married her afterwards. Consuelo, talented and extremely selfish was a model of the roses which the prince loved.

Near the exit, the special space of “the little prince” with foxes.

I’ve read A novel “The Little Prince of the star” in my childhood and has also read after I grew an adult. I came to like this story more.
At the opening of the novel it is written “for adults who had lost the heart of the child”.
On the way back to town I felt like I could regain the heart of children by visiting the museum.
I recommend you all to visit this museum to restore long lost childhood.
