Not far from the Ryugu-Kutsu, we arrived at a sandbank which is also with an underground entrance. We passed a small stairway downward and an open ground suddenly emerged before us. The distance between Sandbank and Ryugu-Kutsu was very close, however the Sandbank was much brighter and broader than the Ryugu-Kutsu. Unlike the Ryugu-Kutsu, the Sandbank doesn’t have a celling and is completely open air. The stone stairway was covered with sand from the bottom and there is a vast ground of sand. The whole Sandbank is a site for sand ski. The ground is very steep at a tilt of 45 degree and covered with fine sand, there are many sand dunes piled up alongside the wall of mountain, nobody knows how many years it cost to form a landscape like this. The Sandbank is facing to the sea, all these sand were blew to here by wind from the other side of the sea, enclosed by the mountains around it. I felt exhilarating while imaged every singe particle of sand must had a fascinating adventure when passing the ocean from the other side, finally landed on the sand dunes. Every particle must have more penances than me, there must be a long travel story for every particle to tell. 20141003 461   IMG_0816   We all marveled at the spectacular sand dunes, to the natural forming process, also to time it cost. A friend of mine climbed the sand dune from the bottom, peering down at us from the top of the sand, we stand near the beach, asked him to ski down the sand surface. But he never had the encourage to do that, he just returned by walking on the sand again bearing a silly smile and with his shoes full of sand. IMG_0814 The sand ground have various distinctive segments in term of its surface, first is the wall of the mountain, then the fine sand accumulated alongside the mountain, from there the particles of sand slowly became bigger and bigger, finally transformed to pebbles washed by the sear water constantly when reaching the beach area. The sea stretches to the horizon and its color deepen and turn to dark blue slowly. I thought this must be a nice place for the artist. IMGP3941 There are several large rocks near the sea, all weathered much by the wind, but these rocks formed a harmonious scene with the sand dunes. The sandbank made me feel exhilarated, because its quietness, also because its broadness, a broadness seems to accepting everything around it. I was totally marveled by the original of the sand, every particle of the sand flew over mountains and sea to arriving at this place. Suddenly I realized I was just like a particle of sand, come far from my country to here Japan. IMG_0815
