The revival of Minamoto Clan started here.

On the night of August 17th 1180, Minamoto no Yoritomo received an order from King Mochihiro, made a raid to the House of Mokudai Taira Kanetaka.

The raid occurred when there was a festival held at Mishima Taisha Shrine, the retainers of the house all went to the festival, the house was weak for the raid.

Minamoto’s troop departed in the middle of the night, passed Ushikuwa Ooji Road and killed Tsutsumi Nobutoo at Tada, then went for Yamaki House.

After a fierce battle, Kanetaka was killed by Kato Kagekado.
