Hello everyone, this is the report of my spontaneous trip at Monday, April 6 to Miyagino at Hakone. Its been raining and very cold the day before. Yes, this trip happened thanks to the clear weather (yey!).

Going to Miyagino, Hakone

I went to Miyagino from Odawara station to Hakone Yumoto station by the train. Then I took the Hakone Tozan bus in front of Hakone Yumoto station until Miyagino. I was so excited because its my first time riding a bus! (To see how to ride a bus in Japan you can click here ^o^) I got off the bus and need to walk a little, but even before reaching the actual place there are already many shidare-zakura lining up in front of me. Its very… pink! Hahaha, here are some pictures.

What to do at Miyagino

Walked a little and here we are! By the way, the river name is Hayakawa (早川, literally means “fast river”).  The sakura along the riverbank is the Somei Yoshino type (Prunus × yedoensis). Unlike the first pink sakura, this kind of cherry blossom is more white, like snow. The river have many little streams and there were many people fishing! So if you like fishing don’t forget to prepare your fishing kit!

Miyagino is perfect to go alone, with your couple, or the whole family. As I stroll beside Hayakawa river I passed many couples from different age groups. There are also families, with the cute babies and little kids running around.

Remember to prepare bento to come over there and check the weather. When I went there, the weather was perfect for picnic. Many people were having a pleasant picnic, enjoying their meal with the warm sunlight, adorable sakura, and the sound of river stream. I didn’t prepare any bento so I walked to the store nearby, bought a food, and enjoy a little hanami for myself ^v^

Going Back

I walked around taking pictures and its time to go home. Actually starting from April 1 until April 20 there will be a sakura light up start from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., but I can’t stay too long until night. Before leaving, I went down a wood ladder to the soil at the center of the river and took this last photo.

Time to go home. I took the bus again, this time there were so many people on the bus. Probably going home from their trip to different travelling spot too. I fell asleep!! Kind old lady woke me up, telling me its the last station. I hurriedly stood up and luckily this “last station” is in Odawara station!! I didn’t know this route exist! I am pretty sure you guys can also use this route otherwise to go straight for Miyagino from Odawara station.

That’s all for this report. I wish you can prepare a delightful picnic with your lover and family! (or for yourself who just want to travel alone)

-Vivi-
